This work was painted and drawn straight onto the wall. It shows the view across Adamsdown in Cardiff visible from two of the south-facing, fifth floor windows of Cardiff School of Art over the exact moment of the summer solstice, 2008. The dimensions (184cm x 111cm) and position of the images on the wall opposite the windows exactly correlated to the sections of window through which I shot the photographs from which I worked. The drawings are mirror-images of the views. The piece was painted out at the end of the MA degree show. The initial image took 20 seconds to capture; I took six weeks to inscribe these images on the wall of the institution; the painting out took approximately 20 minutes.
